here's a little collection of things i've seen on the internet this week that have made me laugh, cry, dance or think:
Seen anything lately worth sharing?
Pali Lookout

this was probably the most fun we had in hawaii, because for the entire duration of the visit, we were in full laughter. i've never experienced such natural chaos and it was rather amazing to feel the power of powerlessness.
My only word of advice--don't wear a dress!
one of my favorite humans on the earth.

yesterday i got a link sent to me from my bff jenny.
it was this link:
and moments later, i was dead.
dead from shock.
from laughter.
from tears.
and most of all dead from confusion.
please enjoy this absolutely baffling tutorial and think upon the risks us bloggers take on a regular basis...;)
picture your life...better.

we're busy getting ready for their arrival today:
but you simply must watch this:
marcus and i were both in tears last night--but, like, good tears.
+btw, i totally take pictures of food and have nothing against it, but people, this is hilarious
well, at least...

it's a funny thing--getting your house robbed.
we now find ourselves picking things up of value (either monetary or personal) and saying, "hey, at least they didn't take_______."
and for a moment, we're happy.
what a weird thing it took to make us appreciate all the little treasures we have in our home.
my favorite "hey they didn't take" item was mentioned last night:
we were brushing our teeth with our sonicare toothbrushes that we've had for years (and are really of no value to anyone but our teeth), but i had been crying all day and probably even had tears running down my face while brushing and marcus said, through his toothpaste foaming mouth, "hey, at least they didn't take our sonicares, so i guess we're still pretty rich."
*this story might make that funnier...
If you watch Arrested Development you simply must...

{Wardrobe} Wednesday: hearts&stripes&crazies all over
5.16.2012
Well yesterday was like any other roll out day at work.
I had spent the majority of my day up on ladders with props and tools in my hands, when suddenly I heard my visuals manager, in his thick puerto rican accent, beckon me over quite urgently.
He told me, "Ashley, go outside and tell the security guard the man he is looking for is in here."
I tried to inquire about what the background story was, since I know this is not how we handle shoplifting situations, but he would not say anything more and urged me out the door.
Still very confused, I delivered the cryptic message verbatim, and to my surprise, the security guard knew what it meant. All he said was, "Don't worry ma'am, the police are on their way."
My curiosity got the best of me and I had to ask what was going on, but never had I expected to hear what I heard next--
Apparently in a different store (not ours thankfully!) the man had exposed himself and started urinated out in the open!
When the security guard told me, I kept my composure, but when I had to relay the message back to my manager, it was just too much. I had a very unprofessional awkward/confused/shocked laugh attack.
Later that day on my lunch break, I saw a lady in line with her entire rear hanging out--and I don't mean just sort of, I mean I could describe her very tiny undies in detail and entirety. I'm still not sure what was going on there, but what i learned that day was that people are crazy.
I know it's hot in arizona right now and wearing clothes can be a challenge, and i know sometimes finding a restroom in the mall can be really inconvenient, but people, no.
Just, no.
What's the craziest thing that happened to you at work?
the breakdown:
sunnies: c/o modcloth
teal deal purse: available in my shop
striped navy and white shirt: 80s vintage/thrifted
green belt: vintage/thrifted

hi.
hello.
how are you?
i am good.
have you been on the trampoline lately?
i suggest you find the nearest one today.
bring a friend, or a lover.
bring a camera.
you will laugh.
and laugh.
and be amazed at your awkwardness.
and you will hopefully not pee your pants a tiny bit.
hopefully.

Broadway Bagley's: 2012

Well, Reachel and Andrew did it again!
It was a night to remember and the very best way to finish off 2011 and ring in 2012.
The theme this year was Musicals, so my sister came up with the Xanadu idea and planned a special number.
It was pretty amazing.
Also, looking any kind of graceful in skates, is more of a challenge than you could ever imagine...(you can see the inspiration in yesterday's post.)
We ate themed appetizers, played musical charades, the name game, and enjoyed mini-performances from each famous couple.
Singin' in the Rain: Don and Kathy
Xanadu: back-up dancers
Xanadu: Sonny and Kira
Happy New Year! Don't you just love everybody's costumes? What did you do to celebrate?

an unwelcome dinner guest.
11.28.2011
The company was taken aback. I exclaimed that there must be a bug in my ear as i ran to the bathroom with my head atilt.
People whispered their personal doubts and Marcus finally was at my side looking in my ear, finding nothing and explaining to me that it was surely just an unruly hair, bent on reeking havoc on our dinner party.
I spent some time trying to rinse out my ear with water while my sister, Leisel Googled what one does when experiencing such an atrocity.
The first suggestion was to go in a dark room and hold a flashlight to your ear-- seemed to make sense, since most bugs are attracted to light, but nothing came of it.
At this point I actually began to believe that maybe it really was just a pesky hair and that I was just being paranoid.
But as I walked about I kept feeling something was amiss.
The second remedy was warm oil.
I was standing at the microwave waiting for the oil to cool a bit when suddenly things got more ticklish and uncomfortable than ever. I squealed and yelled for someone to take a gander when Leisel (the only one who actually believed me) came just in time to see an tiny ant crawling on out of its cozy, cushioned hide-away. She grabbed it with her spry little fingers and held it high for all to see.
I've never felt more justified in all my life.
Or more violated.
When it comes to bugs in strange places, always trust oneself.

While watching an edited Waiting for Guffman this weekend a scene came on where they were eating Chinese food. It was almost 10 o'clock at night and Marcus and I turned to each other suddenly ravenous with hunger. We immediately called Kwan's Sampan and they said they's stay open late so we would have time to pick up some food! Haha clearly we have no self-control. Thanks Lauren for introducing us to the goodness of Kwan's.
How are you effected by the visuals of food?
Here is our favorite scene from the movie, which also qualifies as my {tunes} on tuesday for today:
here's a link to a better quality version, but it won't let me embed it here.I die a thousand deaths when i watch this. ****Current giveaway winner announced over HERE!

Yes, yes, we all said goodbye to Halloween by now, but I'm just not quite ready to give it up, so here's one last hurrah and then I will put my holiday spirit into Thanksgiving (NOT CHRISTMAS).
I'm sorry I just can't go there yet.

Marcus and I spend the entire day down at the new house tearing things out and talking to contractors and during a much needed break we came across this gem:
The end is true comedy.
Now somebody pass the turkey...

this really happened.
10.06.2011
The other day I was filling out some paperwork and my age was asked. I looked at the "____" and thought for a moment. This did not shock me, it only seems normal (at least for me) to think for a brief moment about one's age. But then that brief moment passed and the "____" remained a "____" My heart started pounding, was I seriously having this hard of a time remembering my age. This is supposed to happen when you're in your mid-fifties and you've been lying about your age for a good ten years, not when you're in your early twenties!
I continued to sit, in shock and amazement, I knew I was either 22 or 23, but had absolutely no idea which. Finally I googled an age calculator and the answer was revealed to me...in extreme exactness.
It was one of the scariest feelings I've felt all week, and I am determined to keep better track of my age from here on out.
Has this strange phenomena happened to you yet?
