red.

12.16.2013

I find it funny that every year around Christmas time I get this subconscious desire to dress in festive reds. Red is generally my 2nd most feared color (yellow being the first), but once December rolls around, I'm suddenly drawn to it. This coat was a gem of a find. It's a great color of red that doesn't make me feel like a tomato face. There really are few things worse than feeling like a tomato face, let me tell ya. Here's a look back at almost exactly two years ago when i was on my festive colors kick--also happen to be listening to that song earlier today...not much has changed in the last two years, i guess!

p.s. the movie I talked about on Friday was The Bewitching of Ben Wagner!

i definitely know what you mean with red and december. i don't like wearing red either but during christmas time i can't help. i feel like when i wear red or pink it just brings out all the redness in my skin. i love this coat though, i think it looks great on you!

I always feel afraid of colors. I have lots of black in my closet, but I do love playing with prints! I have lots of crazy black and white printed things that I love mixing and matching. I figure that's just as fun as color. Maybe someday I'll venture into the color world more...

The shape of that coat is exactly what I've been looking for! Are you satisfied with the quality of it?

ya, it's quite nice--not extremely warm (but warm enough) the fabric is an interesting texture that i wasn't expecting, but it's consistent so i don't think it's a mess up or anything. i don't know how to explain it other than like pulled wool or something...if you right-click on the closer up picture to zoom in you can see what i'm talking about. i wear it all the time though. i really like it.

i know lame, right? it's because i have red undertones to my skin and green eyes so the red just makes everything more extreme, although now that i don't have yellow hair, it doesn't scare me as much for some reason. i guess i just need to find my perfect red!
