On one of our last days in Hawaii, Bridgette took us on a beautiful hike that lead us to an even prettier waterfall. The water was icy cold, so instead of swimming around like we had planned, we just jumped in for a quick good-luck kiss under the waterfall--is it just me, or do all waterfalls remind you of Disney's Robin Hood? As a child, that scene was the most romantic thing I'd ever beheld.
After working some calories off, naturally we had to replenish--so we had our first taste of Malasadas--which ended with us in jealous tears, because we wouldn't get to have them again until we returned to Hawaii. Seriously, why don't these exist on ever corner? Has anyone had these? HEAVEN!
It's sad to say, but one of my favorite things about travel is getting to eat new places.

those malasadas are to die for...but did you know the bavarian cream filled empanada from taco time is a surprisingly good runner-up? please tell me they have taco times in arizona. I don't remember. I only discovered them when I came to Utah. anyways, try one if you can get it. it's not quite as fluffy, but the cream is sooo good and it's rolled in cinnamon sugar too.

I had the best empanadas de queso in Chile, and I've never been able to recreate them. I'm not a huge cheese fan, but they were so good!

While in Israel I tried shakshuka and it was so good! It's basically eggs in tomato sauce with pitas. Trying new food is one of the best parts of traveling.
I think it is also something very important for me! I don't think I can live without food and you can learn about a culture or country through their food. I just came back from the region where the best and most famous Iberian ham is made. We spent a great weekend over there and we surely ate a lot of ham!!!! the best! :)

The Robin Hood scene, Yes!! You're making me want to go back to hawaii as well! We always love the hawaiian french toast at the hukilau cafe, but we're not very exciting travelers :(
