My Star Valley Cowboy Turns 68!

4.07.2012

Today is my dad's 68th birthday.
And this is what he's doing:
He's never been much for fancy celebrations, so it's not surprising that he said he'd come over and paint our house for us on his birthday, but it still makes me love him just a little bit more.
My dad has always been quiet, but when he talks, everyone listens. He's like one of those presents you get to keep unwrapping, in each box, another box--always learning something new, always surprising.

As a kid, I thought I had my mom's personality, but as I've gotten older, and observed my dad, I can see more and more of him in me. I feel so proud to have a part of that in me forever. I hope someday to cultivate to best of them both.

It's been such a pleasure growing up, and getting to know my dad more and more. He's quirky, and hilarious, and giving, and now i'm crying so, i'm just going to end by saying, he's my favorite person to go boogie-boarding with, and he's my very favorite cowboy.
Happy Birthday, Pops!
And here's to at least 18 more!

Happy birthday to your dad! He could be in the 'we paint your house'-club together with my grandpa and mum. Hehe.

Ok this might be weird, but in the wedding photo, he kind of looks like Marcus.
