{Tunes} on Tuesday Featuring: James Taylor

1.18.2011

Someday, when I die, I'm going to organize a campfire in heaven.

I have been planning this Kumbaya for at least 3 years and occasionally I think of someone else that needs to join the circle, but the main attendees always remain the same:
John Denver, Cat Stevens, Paul Simon, Art Garfunkle, Karen Carpenter, Peter Gabriel, the lead singer of Journey, and of course, today's feature, Mr. James Taylor.

What Makes You Feel Fine Today?

Before I die I will see Journey in concert with Steve Perry as the lead singer instead of the guy they have now! Love that he is included in your campfire-Great song!

James has a very special place in my heart. I lost my concert virginity to him on a summer night in Connecticut as I laid on a blanket and swayed to his music under the stars. It was magical (and a little hippie-ish). Please invite me to the campfire when we're both dead.

i love karen carpenter but i get creeped out sometimes when i listen to her Christmas songs (the only songs of hers i know) thinking of how she died....well, that is NOT what is making me feel fine today but i felt like sharing nonetheless.

Your camp fire guest list is amazing and I hope I one day receive an invitation to join as well! I love James Taylor and have listened to him since I was a wee one. Thanks for sharing :) xoxo

What a GREAT idea for a playlist! I think I'll have to start planning my own campfire sing-along ... after James Taylor and Karen Carpenter party with you, can they come visit me? =) I would also love to invite Patty Griffin and, on the more contemporary side, Cat Power and Priscilla Ahn. It would be warm, sitting-on-stumps perfection.

you don't even need an invitation. i feel that in heaven the love you have for these talented artists will pull you to the fire. it's a weeding out process--only the true fans will be in attendance, and thus, it will be an event for the eternities :) see you there!
