{For Fashion's Sake} Saturday: Christmas Waves A Magic Wand Over This World

12.25.2010

Merry Christmas Ya'll!
You know I'm merry because today I am basking in the warmth of the Arizona Sun
not ankle deep in snow!
Plus, Papa Nielson is making me an omelet--and let me tell you, he beats a mean egg. Mmm <3
I hope each of you is happy, healthy, and doing something nice for someone else; that's the kind of thing Jesus Christ filled His life doing, and afterall this is what the holiday's are all about!
The Breakdown:
Striped Turtleneck: DownEast Basic $Hand-me-down
Double-Strand Belt: Forever21 $Gift
Grey Pencil Skirt: J.Crew $98 (too much, but I had a gift card)
Green Patterned Tights: Gap Clearance $4
Slouch Boots: Charlotte Russe Clearance $5
Bangle Necklace: Forever21 $6
Fuchsia Scarf: Forever21 $Gift

Have Any Good Christmas Traditions?
I'm a sucker for traditions, and since I have my own little Marcus & Ashley Family now, I'd love suggestions!

We open one gift on Christmas Eve and it's always pjs. I like to use my allowance for gifts that would have been spent on me and find a way to serve others with it. This year I bought fleece fabric and am spending Christmas day making blankets to donate to a childrens hospital in Phoenix where my sis-in-law is a pediatrician.
P.S. My family and I visited Mac Alpine's on 7th on our way from California to Phoenix per your request. It was a dream. Thanks for the suggestion!

we get a hallmark ornament every year and have ever since we were tiny children. my mom started doing it so that when we had our own trees when we got married, we would have a special ornament collection to start that would remind us of family and special times and things we liked when we were smaller. the tradition continues, and now jj and i get a hallmark ornament ourselves every year on top of the ornament my mother gets me.

i'm sure you've heard of this tradition before, but i love it. and i have so many wonderful, beautiful ornaments i can't wait to put on my tree!

merry christmas to you and your family :)

Our family has many holiday traditions, but one of everyone's favorites is the rule of putting on every article of clothing/accessories as you receive them. It's always so funny to take pictures documenting it all. This morning was the best yet...all the ladies got those topsy-turvy towel things you twist on your head after a shower. Combine that with fuzzy moccasins and various scarves, oh my gosh we couldn't stop laughing! Another favorite is breaking out the old Christmas home movies...as you can gather, we are big on laughter in my family!

Merry Christmas! I hope you are enjoying a wonderful holiday vacation! :)

I am in love with your red scarf.
It looks amazing with all the white surrounding you.

LOVE this outfit. emphasis on the capital letters. I wish my hair would do that. When I try..it just looks like a lonely spool of thread on my head.

grace--have you tried the tutorial? if you follow the teasing procedure you should get the desired bulk, and by the looks of your length, your hair is ideal for the .do! good luck! and thanks :)
