sweater weather.

4.22.2014

Last week we had a beautiful storm roll in that gave us a few more days of heavenly Spring weather. We drank it in and spent as much time as we could walking around our community garden and ate almost all our meals on the patios of our favorite cafes. I'm going to miss this time of year, before it's even fully gone, I find myself missing it.

Spring is the time of the Unicorn and the unicorn in me is happiest in the springtime.

We're actually toying with the idea of moving, somewhere that is green more of the year. Marcus wants Seattle, I'm not sure this Arizona girl can survive the clouds, but I'm willing to give it a try--maybe.

Where would you move, if you could live anywhere in the USA?

I gre up near the beaches in California. I've spent the last 9 years living in the desert of California. We recently moved to Maryland for a year. I've been LOVING it. So much history. Always somewhere to go and something to learn. Seasons!!! A little snow a little rain. Bonus: we live on the water! I can't imagine being able to afford living waterside in California. Think about a little stint out East.

oh i don't know - seattle is awfully gloomy! try portland, OR! it's my favorite city other than Nashville and my Boston.

Seattle is SO cloudy! I have family up there and it's fun visiting them but I'm always glad to get back to the sun!

Aaron and I have talked about moving to Virginia or North Carolina in the distant future. We're even going there in a couple weeks to see if we actually like it (never been...just like the idea of it, I suppose?)

I'm moving Northwest at the end of this year! I kind of like the gloom, though.

I'm from Florida and things are Always green here. I mean, really, really green. There are no other seasons but summer. But Disney and the beach are only a few minutes away!

That's funny, I live in northern Nevada and am so tired of winters, I just want to move to Arizona! Give me all the sunshine! But, the green is beautiful and seasons fun if you have winter things you like to do or enjoy being inside ;)

I grew up in the Seattle area, and I miss it EVERY DAY. I just thought the sky was grey for a lot of my childhood, haha. I have a dream to move back some day. The summers always seemed to make up for the months and months of cloudy days :)

You would make all my dreams come true if you two ventured up to Seattle, for I am moving there in August. I am totally an Arizona girl too so the clouds do scare me a bit, but that just means Arizona trips at least twice in the winter :) Plus I am having a baby this fall that you could come snuggle, am I convincing you? Even just a little??

I'm from the Seattle area and I miss it so much! The smell of rain, the endless fog, and being surrounded by a forest trees year round!! It's the best.

I think I'd like to live in northern California, but we'll see how long we'll end up in Chandler once we move in a month!

Seattle is hands down my all tmie favorite city. My husband was born and raised in Seattle and our goal after graduate school is to live there.
Before you make the move, my advice is to visit it during the wettest part of the year -- Winter. Make sure you can handle the constant rain.
Good luck!

I like to have a bit of a change in seasons. Although in my region (Southern Spain) the summer is longer and winter is about a month or two, so I'm used to not having time to wear light sweaters for a long time :(
I¡ve lived in different areas and countries, and I don't like the hot humid weather like in Hong Kong. This summer we're moving to France for good. My guy's French and got a good job back in his town so I'll be living in France again (but a different region this time). I'll have to get used to the rain :)

I think this can be a grass is greener type of situation! I was raised and still live in VA, and love it (close to the beach, the mountains, east coast cities, etc) but dream of somewhere that is always warm, like california or FL. Each location has it's pros and cons; I think it's what you make of it and what you want most!

I am in southeast Virginia (20 minutes from Virginia Beach) and love it here. We usually get all 4 seasons and here in the Tidewater area we can sometimes get all 4 seasons in one day!!! No truly, the weather here is very mild, maybe one snow a year, never too cold, and only humid during the heat of the summer.

Also there are lots of jobs since we have so many military installations.

I live in Vancouver (BC), so the weather here is very much the same as Seattle - and I love it! I grew up in the region though, and I've had friends move here from elsewhere, such as semi-desert climates, that can't handle the rain and overcast days (/months). Or, at least it takes them a long time to get used to. The mildness is just heavenly though - hardly ever sweating too much, and not often snowed in from a storm. It is wet, but beautiful, green, fresh and alive! So close to the ocean, mountains, everything.
p.s. I appreciated your re-caps on your Costa Rica trip - I sent it over to a friend who was heading there last week and she found your ideas helpful. So, thanks!

Come to Chicago! We love it here. The cold might be a big change for you (but I suppose everywhere is going to be cold compared to the south/SW). Want to try your hand at big city life? I'll show you around :)

I find myself doing the same thing lately, missing things before they're actually gone. It's hard not to, ya know?
