Poppy Turns One! (we think)

7.17.2013

Today is the day we have decided is Poppy's birthday.
When we got her, we forgot to ask what day she was actually born. All we know is that she was about 7 weeks when we took her home.
Then, through the magic of instagram #hashtags we met Julie who had a minpin named Penny that she got at about 7 weeks--on the same day as us (but in California)--we've basically become besties and we can't wait to meet up in real life sometime soon!
Julie knew Penny's birthday was July 17th, so we decided that would be Poppy's as well.
So happy birthday my little Poppy Reh Little Deer! We love you so much--you make us happy everyday even when you eat a perfectly good pair of shoes and i want to kill you for that moment.
I'm glad Marcus talked me into getting you.

(and happy birthday Penny!)

Do you have a pet? What is it? What's their name? Do you celebrate their birthday (or I am just crazy)?
I'm serious, I'd love to hear about them!

cute! I've got an english bulldog named Winston. My husband had to talk me into getting him (i used to not be a dog person) and now i am a crazy dog mom. And I went all out for his first bday. I made him a doggy cupcake and made him wear a bday hat. So no, you're not crazy! see pictures here: http://mickelles.blogspot.com/2012/09/happy-birthday-winston.html

I have a yellow lab named Aspen and a tabby cat named Liebe (love in German!) Aspen turns 3 in August and Liebe turns 2 in September. We don't do much to celebrate, but we give them a treat :)

Happy birthday Poppy! My cat just turned 12 on July 11th, and I celebrate it every year (with just a little embarrassment). I've had her since she was 8 weeks old, and she's my baby!

Happy Birthday Poppy! She's a darling little pup! I have a mini poodles named Ellie. She turned 4 on July 3rd. We pick out presents for her and got her one of those nasty smelling, expensive gourmet dog dinners. :) We even light a candle and sing! Haha! My husband and I cannot have children so she has really been special to us and I truly believe she was meant to be a part of our family. I never wanted a dog but my boyfriend at the time (now husband) insisted on buying one for "us". She melted my heart and we've been inseparable ever since!

Happy Birthday, Poppy! I hope you had a fun day filled with everything you love!!! I have a little Scottie named Daisy Meadow. Her birthday is February 14, so you know she will have a little party! I am a dork and have a blog about her. I decided to post a picture a day for our first year together. www.dailydaisydog.blogspot.com
Happy 1st birthday, Poppy!

Happy birthday, Poppy! I have a cat named Scout (who thinks her name is Kitten. No, really). She's been my best little friend for a few years now, ever since I got her. It was just her and I living alone doing homework and planning a wedding together when my [now] husband was in Afghanistan. We just recently adopted a shelter dog- his name is Jameson- and he is a "chi-weenie." They're just our furry littles and I love them beyond anything. I love that you love Poppy like I love Jamo & Scout! :)

I'm totally nuts for my pups! We have a 2 1/2 year old Westie named Landy Faraway (because we travel to a "land far away" to get him.) Our other dog is a 1 1/2 year old Corgi named Lowla. Both are totally buds and spoiled rotten. Our life revolves around these two. I haven't gone too nuts on birthdays but I do sing Happy Birthday to them. :-)
