a few weeks ago my SIL, Elizabeth was in town and came to see our house.
not many people have seen it because, well we still have a lot of work to do on it, but she said i should post some pictures of the progress we've made, so per her suggestion, here's where we are so far:

i call the style bohemian mid-century modern.
i've had an obsession with mid-century style since 9th grade and have been collecting the furniture since then.
i got most of it from either my favorite antique store on main street called antique plaza or thrift stores.
collecting furniture at a young age makes for much less expensive home decorating expenses, so marcus was quite pleased with my young designer desires...:)

I would classify my design style as more of a traditional/modern but two of my favorite design eras are:Arts and Crafts and Art Deco.
I love all the lighting you have. That lamp is amazing.
oh my gosh it is all so perfect. its so perfectly retro. my house is crazy and old. many time it gets related to hispanic houses because we have lime green walls. definitely retro.

Everything looks great! I have lived in my house for three years now and have still hit a stumbling block when it comes to decorating! I love mimd-century modern, and your bohemian twist is adorable. I am completely jealous of your dish collection!
Beautiful work so far! My friend recently bought the same lamp you have in your living room for her bedroom...love it!!! I think my style is modern mixed with shabby chic! :)
Ashely I LOVE your style. It's so simplistic and vintage but modern at the same time. How the heck do you do that all at once. I love your furniture collection. Every time I looked at a new picture Matt thought I was having a heart attack, "That chair.....that dresser.......THAT BED FRAME!! You're killing me here.
Love your style! I'm 4 weeks away from a big move and am trying to figure out what and where and who. We definitely have a similar taste though! I was planing on using my vintage suitcases as a nightstand .....I think we have the same chair for the living room. AND....I looooove your kitchen!!!
If I had the place for them all..I'd probably have enough furniture for about 4 apartments ^^ or maybe even more.....furniture hunting is one of my all time pleasures. :)

I LOVE IT! I wish I had had that passion for decoration from such a young age! I was rather into other things... :( I like that mixture of styles and furnitures! right now we're renting and the furniture AND also most decoration items were already in, but I'm scared for one day I'll have to decorate with my boyfriend and I'm all about vintage and h'es all about modern zen! :S

I loved taking a "peek" inside your house! You have styled you house very nicely :) The antique plaza is one of my favorite places! Have you visited the Antique Center in Scottsdale? They have some pretty neat things too!
