Great Gatsby!

5.04.2011

A while ago I told you about our photographer friend Blake Pack.
He was working on a semester project that involved colored film, classic literary couples with a touch of modernity, and us.
I might have squealed outloud in the library when I received the honored invite to portray
Jay Gatsby and Daisy Buchanan.
He shot us from underneath a sheet with a camera that looked a lot like this, I'm pretty sure he said it was about 100 years old!

The only clothing instructions we received were 'modern vintage' and 'green.'
Here's what we came up with:
I die for this picture of Marcus.
He looks as charming as Gatsby ever did!
Before we started shooting, Blake gave us a rundown of our characters and asked us to do our best to portray them. It was so fun!
I haven't read The Great Gatsby since high school, so I don't remember this detail, but Blake said that the novel's color theme was green, so he really wanted me in a green dress.

I, however, was living in little old Rexburg at the time, and didn't have a lot of time or options.
So, I decided to do something really scary...
Sew my own dress.
Through some miracle, it actually fit!
Needless to say, I'm pretty proud of myself.

Thanks Blake!
