{Tunes} on Tuesday Featuring: Ingrid Michaelson and Choreographer, Bret Easterling

3.15.2011

If I were going to devote my life to dance, Contemporary Modern might be my dance of choice. It makes me so happy.

When I saw this on Brunette Bombshell's blog I had a flashback to the good ol' days when I was addicted to 'So You Think You Can Dance?' I would watch it at night, before I would go run the Westwood track. Then, with my iPod blasting, rather than run, I would modern/interpretive dance around in the dark.

Mind you have no idea how to dance like that, but it made me happy to pretend, so that's the way it was--Crazy Ashley dancing the track every night, happy as a lark.

I wonder if one day I'll develop a sense of shame or embarrassment? Oh, how bored I would become...

What type of dance would you choose?

I like craziness! Is the best for not losing your mind (kind of paradoxical but I think it's true).

I don't know which kind of dance would I choose, I'm not really good at that... but I totally LOVE to dance when I'm alone and I dance all kind of music but at my own way...

i'd say a ballet and modern mix, definitely.

What! I love this! I'm so glad I am not the only one who was so inspired by the show it made them do crazy awesome things. I've always been envious of people who can dance--I'm not one of them. I love all types of dance. This is one of my favorite dance videos. Maybe this type isn't up your alley, but I love it! I hope you do too.

I love this! I was a dancer for four years and LOVED it! This was also my favorite style. It seems like the most artistic form of dance to me. No limitations. :)

that was super cool... and slightly unsettling that their feet all seemed to be glue to the ground... looking at it from a "thats a cool idea" standpoint my hats off to that chorographer... from a dancers standpoint, i fear i would be a little bored dancing it... but i guess its the piece as a whole and its so smart, ya know!

its never too late to start your modern dance career! take some classes girl! if you are ever in MI or UT you can take from me and Soph, {on the house cause you are so cool!} then you can modern dance in broad daylight!

I love that song! I don't dance, though. I guess I would choose Zumba? Does that count?

Love the song and definitely would be modern combined with hip hop. I went to Extravadance this weekend and have been missing my dancing days since

I would also choose Contemporary Modern, or perhaps Modern Jazz. I wish I could dance!

I am not much of a dancer unless it's just jivin' in the car, but I looove Ingrid. Lol. That is all...except do you think people would think I was creepy if I named my kid Ingrid? ;)

This is amazing. They never move their feet from that one spot. Awesome.

AHH! Thanks so much for sharing that! This is definitely going in my favorite videos list :) I danced ballet for like 13 years of my life so I'll always have a special place in my heart for that, but honestly I just love contemporary. It's beautiful and you can express so much through it...this video is a good example. So ya, probably like a mix between contemporary and ballet? I think that'd be cool. :D
