Workin' On My Fitness...

1.07.2011

Yesterday night we decided to check out the new indoor track on campus.
In general I have a hard time doing things that I can’t see at least some immediate progression--hence, the reason I hate treadmills.
You are going nowhere, and long before I get tired, I get bored. I love tracks. You make it around once and you know it’s been ¼ of a mile. You can see the end. Even if it’s just circles at least there is a literal advancement. Maybe I’m crazy. But what I‘m trying to say is, simply, that I’m stoked about the new track.

After we ran, we spent some time stretching out, doing push ups, sit ups, etc. mostly I just did my best to distract the boy. I just die over his cheeks. They get all rosy and I could just eat him up! I could go running everyday just to see those babies light up!

For those of you BYU-I readers: Have you been to the new gym? Thoughts?
Everyone else, how are your New Years Resolutions coming?

Hey!!! I've been reading your blog from a while. It's really cool. I'm from Venezuela, LDS girl (well not so 'girl' I'm 25 years old hahahaha)
Just wanted to let you know I'm reading.
Lu.
PS: Excuse me for my grammar etc, English isn't my native language.

Venezuela? Well, it's a funny country to live in =) We are in the North of South America, next to Colombia.
I read you don't like the cold, here we have summer all year long, I just spent xmas at the beach!

i'm with you - totally prefer tracks to treadmills....get too bored otherwise.

Treadmills do take getting used to, especially if you're used to tracks, or especially the outdoors! The advantage of treadmills are that they track your minutes, calories and distance--and they can fit nicely right in your basement! If there's no other remedy, a treadmill is a great workout, and will keep you fit until you can return to the track or the streets!

I love this blog! So cute and lively! Oh, and yeah, I totally made a new year's resolution to work out three times a week this year. It is now Friday night and I have done no exercising. And I shamelessly just ate a Costa Vida pork salad. It's so hard to regret something that tastes so darn good

I've now run on the track a few times and am extremely happy about it. I've trained for a half marathon in the cold Rexburg weather, and now I am VERY happy to have a place to run where it's a bit warmer!
