marcus and i bought last minute tickets to the andrew bird concert that was going down at the mesa art center. we had been obsessing over his newest album break it yourself since it came out, but had somehow failed to buy tickets until two hours before the show.
live music makes me appreciate the artist all the more. it's truly amazing to see him/them create these emotion evoking sounds right in front of you. there's no remixing, no edits, just an artist, his (many) instruments, speakers, and an audience.
how great it was.
especially since we ended up running into a bunch of friends after the show.
i really love concerts. and i really love this song:

i saw him at ACL a few years ago. nobody whistles quite like andrew bird!
That would be a great show! I watched him on Coachella live last weekend and he was super great. I'm going to Ingrid Michaelson tonight, and maybe the Avett Brothers in July. Pretty psyched!
the first time i saw andrew bird live was at the marquee theatre in tempe. i'd seen others loop guitars but the looped violin and whistling blew my mind! i will never be the whistler he is...
I love this outfit of yours! This is too funny because when I saw Kristine {kristine or polly} posted a pic with something about "andrew bird" on twitter I was thinking about Chelseabird and that she was somehow waiting to see him ...? It confused me! But then I remembered Chelsea's bf's name is Scott, and your post just cleared up a lot of questions that I had.. haha!
totally saw her last night there too! hahah glad i could bring answers to your troubled mind :)
First off, your outfit is adorable. Second, I LOOOVE concerts! I just went to 2 this week! I saw Bon Iver on Monday (AMAZING doesn't even begin to describe it - seriously took my breath away!) and Miike Snow on Tuesday. Next month I'm going to Death Cab For Cutie, and Lana Del Rey in June! Can't wait!
don't forget his whistling. :) i love andrew bird.
