{Top Five} Children's Books:
2. i like you
I'm a sucker for children's lit. It's most definitely my favorite kind of literature, so this top five was way too hard for me to narrow it down, and since this is my blog and I make the rules, here are some more that I love that are written for the slightly older child, or for me, a full grown adult, who happens to love her imagination:
<3 The first two books make for great Valentine's Day reads!
I love books that are fun to read out loud.
I love books with beautiful illustration.
And I love books that are full of symbolism.
So if you have any that I need to add to my collection, please let me know!

These are all my favorite books in the world! Love You Forever makes me teary eyed EVERY time.
I love all the books you listed. I am also a fan of THe Litte Critter books by Mercer Mayer, and The Little Bear Books by Else Holmelund Minarik.. for older readers I love Judy Blume and Beverly Cleary...
You HAVE to add The Kissing Hand to your collection. It is so precious, you will love!
great list.
you should add my two favorite go-to's for baby shower gifts, because they are beautifully designed from the 60s by none other than Paul Rand: Little 1 and
Sparkle & Spin.
Ruby The Copycat, The Trouble With Trolls, The Giving Tree...

books that are full of symbolism?
the narnia series, for sure. i am reading them right now, and i literally gasp out loud. there are so many amazing references to Christ, the Atonement...you will love them.
J'aime bein "Le Petit Prince"
Bon choix
All fantastic choices! Thank you for sharing a great list.
The Napping House! My Kindergarteners LOVE it...it's my all time favorite read aloud!
I cannot wait to have kids so that I can read to them. It is my very favorite 'babysitting' activity to do now. I'd never seen that Edward Monkton book you listed first, but it looks adorable -- next time I take my cousins to the library, I am looking that one up.
When my (youngest) sister was born, I (the oldest) loved reading to her, and our favorite book was "The Seven Silly Eaters"... It's still circulating around the family.
I love "children's" books! My favorites are Narnia and Harry Potter. I just started A Little Princess, which I guess is a book for children, but a bit older. I haven't read that far, though. The 'princess' in the title caught me.
I read The Little Prince a little while back. I want to read it in French, but I don't know French. Sad. Haha!
i could read the HP series over and over for the rest of my life and never tire of it. of course, i have to remind myself that adults don't do things like that. so i throw in grown-up books in between HPathons.
I wrote a post about my (top 5) fave books from my childhood last week. you should read jim button by michael ende, there are two of them and are lovely!
