Something Blue.

1.22.2011

Waking up on the 24th was the strangest feeling. I stood there looking at my bridesmaids, asleep in their beds, and I panicked.

Suddenly, I had NO IDEA how to get ready. Not the first idea of what to do first. So I just stood there with my heart pounding out of my chest, as my bottom lids did a poor job at damming the floods that were coming.

I was on the verge of tears...the whole morning.

Finally, I came to the conclusion that a shower was a good start. After that, the girls were up, and Leisel blew-dry my hair.
From there, I remembered how to put on my make-up and curl my locks.
It was going to be okay, after all.

Unexpectedly, all of my sister-in-laws (it's weird for me to call them that, because they're such sisters to me, since I've known most of them for the better part of my life, but just so you know who they are, I will) surprised me while I was getting ready.

They know I love traditions, especially traditions tied to good luck, so they organized gifts to give me.
This was one of my Grandmother Vivian Rose's handkerchiefs.
I never got to meet her in this life, so it was really special to have a piece of her with me during the ceremony.
(Luckily, I hadn't put on eye make-up yet!)
A cocktail ring and two mix CDs called Roadtrips & Romance with songs selected from all of the sisters!
This was from my chef SIL, Kara
I had told her a story of how I didn't own a rolling pin, so whenever I made Cinnamon Rolls I had to use a cup!
Hahah I loved that she remembered :)
I promise I love this necklace (even though my face says otherwise...) Thanks Heidi!
Red Lipstick was a Vintage Wedding MUST!
I did my hair for the wedding, but Leisel helped me get the vintage bump I needed :)
Having my best friends there was the best.
One last check, and I was ready to head to the Temple.

As I waited for my parents to pick me up from the Girls Condo, my big brother Jason came over. He gave me a hug and started to get emotional and complimentary, but seeing as I was doing all I could to keep the tears down, I stood back, pointed a scolding finger in his face and said--"Don't say anything nice to me, only neutral things, or mean things will do."
And that was that...

Your crying picture gave me a lump in my throat. When we married I had lived in a town for a year and didn't really have any good friends, so I got ready alone the day of our wedding. It's so nice to have people so close to you.
