And Since I Don't Have A Butler, I Have To Do It Myself...

12.16.2010

Isn't it presh how our burgers were holding hands and even more presh that Marcus made me stop washing the dishes and walk across the kitchen to show me that our burgers were holding hands?
It’s almost like he gets me or something…

Last Friday we had a really exciting date night.
Like, mega-classy.

First we went to ‘the wal-mart’ to get some popcorn and look for a cheap substitute for an air mattress because we (at some point) want to go camping in the back of our car.

Then we really got the night going with a trip to, wait for it, wait for it---the DI thrift store!

This one-stop shop actually proved to be much more exciting than I initially imagined.

For a grand total of $16 we got:

  • a like-new George Foreman grill--"What? I like to wake up to the smell of bacon, sue me."
  • a blazer that we’re going to deconstruct and use for an array of things, but most importantly we're using the buttons to put on a Burberry Blazer we found REDUCED, REDUCED, and REDUCED again because of the missing buttons
  • and, finally, I got this retro straw holder to match the darling Hamilton Beach Malt Mixer I got there last month!

While, admittedly, Wal-mart and the DI are not my ideal choice for Friday Night Date Night, I couldn’t really complain this time.

Plus, that sick fat that was melting off my burger made me really excited in a I-Can’t-Believe-I-Ever-Ate-A-Burger-Without-This-Machine-Before-In-My-Life kind of way.

I'm kind of in love with this post! The hamburger shot had me laughing out loud--that you took a picture of it! And I'm loving how you're using the word "presh"--seriously. Sounds like a rockin date to me. Love the straw holder.

Ditch the Wal Mart and its date night for the win. Good stuff!

First of all; your burger story made me laugh! Plus it's cute!
Second; WHAT A DEAL! That is crazy for $16. [As well I truly appreciate the Michael Scott bacon quote.. pure genius]

who knew burger fat strands could be so great, right?

Bobbins-first off, cute picture ;) secondly, DI stands for Deseret Industries. It's the thrift store run by the LDS church. It provides job experience/opportunities for people who may be struggling in a an array of areas.

great post -- my personal favorite part is where you say "the walmart." TOTally. whut the "the" that people preface proper nouns with all the time? kills me.
