The {Top-Knot} Tutorial

12.15.2010

Below is one of the requested tutorial of the hairdo seen here and here
oh and over there, too.

After recording this I tried to figure out why I didn't like it as much as I usually do.
After some examination I realized it was just slightly too forward
It looks better a little further back on your head--well at least on my head. Experiment with it.

(Don't mind the fact that I continually call 'bumps', "knots"...
I was a little nervous, okay? Step off.)

You are too cute Ashley! I'll have to try that. My hair is ridiculously thick though, so we'll see how it goes!

Ah this makes me miss having long hair. Although my hair has never been that long in my life probably. My pixie is starting to look mullet-esque. No bueno.

Thanks for the tutorial! I definitely want to try it soon, but I have waist-length hair right now & I think that would make for a humongous top knot, haha.

i thoroughly enjoyed the scientific use of the phrase "hot mess" and "like a conehead tall". awesome tutorial. also, i may have that sweater. or one very very extremely similar.

i must also admit i have been a little scared to try this and thought i may look like i got electrocuted, but you made it seem pretty doable. i'll send my picture if i don't look like i got electrocuted.

I love the top-knot look but am apprehensive to do it myself. I have never liked the way I look when I slick all my hair back. That and the fact that most of my hair is shorter than my earlobe means I probs won't be trying it out.

AHH! I wish my hair was as long and foxy as yours! I too suffer from unduly fine/thin hair...Thus, I often find myself resorting to the straight-"do" . When my hair gets longer (hurry up prenatal vitamins!) I will certainly attempt this look.

Good job! I liked seeing the tutorial. Even though my hair isn't that long, it was fun to see. :)

I love the top knot! So cute, this actually helps a lot with making mine wider vs always having it so tall.
Also I laughed when you said 'not cone head tall' haha

You have such pretty hair.
I have so much though, that if I did this, it would give me a headache.
Disspointment.
Haha.
