Hey Ashley,
Actually, the reason that red shirt wouldn't "roll" is probably because the shirt was cut on the opposite grain, not necessarily the lack of spandex.... on most t-shirts you need to cut horizontal strips (across your body, rather than up-and-down) to get it to roll, but that one might just be made different. Try cutting it the opposite way (vertically) and see if that works.
